Short Course Swim Meet
Sanctioned by the Florida LMSC for USMS, Inc.

DATE & TIME:  Sunday, April 21, 2024.  Warm up is at 7:00 a.m.  Meet start is 8:00 a.m.

FACILITY:  Dwight H. Hunter “Northeast” Pool, 1100 NE 14th Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.  SCY, 16 lanes available for warm up and 8 lanes will be available to swim down between events.  

POOL LENGTH CERTIFICATION:  The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1, but as a bulkhead course, is subject to length confirmation. Eligibility of times for USMS Top 10 and records will be contingent on verification of bulkhead placement.

TIMING SYSTEM:   The primary timing system will be automatic timing. Times may be submitted for USMS records and USMS Top 10 consideration.

ELIGIBILITY:  Current USMS rules will govern the meet. All participants must be age 18 or older as of the last day of the meet, and be currently-registered members of U.S. Masters Swimming. Foreign swimmers must provide proof of current membership in their country’s Masters Swimming governing body.

ONLINE ENTRIES:  www.clubassistant.com   Online entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST by Sunday, April 14, 2024.  There is a limit of 135 swimmers for the meet.

ENTRY FEES:  Entry fee is $60 per swimmer and includes up to 5 individual events and a T-shirt (Sizes S, M, L, XL).  2XL is available for an additional $2.00.  Relays are no additional cost.  Entry fees are NOT REFUNDABLE.

ENTRY LIMITS:  There is a limit of 5 individual events for the Meet.  This does not include Relays.

CHECK-IN:  Check in will open at 6:45am.  All athletes must be checked in before the last heat of the 500 Free.

SEEDING:  Events will be swum slowest to fastest.   “No Time” (NT) entries are permissible.

SCRATCHES:  No penalty for scratching on the block.  No refunds for scratched events.

RELAYS:  Relays can be deck entered the day of the meet.  No extra cost for Relays.

SCORING:  Individual events will be scored 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

AWARDS: There will be high point awards for the highest scoring Male and top Female of the meet , this will be based in individual events only. If there is a tie, swimmers that have more than one person in their age group will be awarded.   Every swimmer will automatically be put in a raffle.  Prizes will be picked and passed out during the meet.  We will also be recognizing the “King and Queen” of our 4th Annual Meet.  This goes to the most “Senior” athlete competing (one male, one female).

HOSPITALITY:  There is no concession area, but water coolers will be available.
